Description

Delicious oven baked salmon seasoned with a smoky spice mix.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb salmon fillet (center-cut recommended)
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 Tbsp brown sugar (or coconut sugar)
  • 1½ tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp chili powder
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp coarse kosher salt (or ¼ tsp if using fine table salt, more to taste)
  • ¼ tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400℉ (200°C). Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy clean-up. Spray with cooking spray.
  2. Combine the brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a small bowl.
  3. Pat the salmon dry with a paper towel and then place salmon skin side down on the sheet pan. Coat the salmon in the olive oil and add the paprika mixture on top.
  4. Rub the top of the salmon until the spice mix evenly coats the salmon.
  5. Bake for 12-15 minutes until the fish flakes easily with a fork. Cook time will vary depending on the thickness of your salmon fillets.

Notes

  • For a sweeter flavor, use coconut sugar instead of brown sugar.
  • Cook time may vary, check for doneness to avoid overcooking.
