Description

Deliciously tangy lemon squares that are simple to make and perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large fresh lemons (zested and juiced)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat melted butter and granulated sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in lemon juice and zest.
  4. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  5. Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. A toothpick inserted in the center should come out clean.
  6. Allow to cool completely before cutting into squares and dusting with powdered sugar.

Notes

  • For an extra lemony flavor, add more zest to the batter.
