Description

This delicious apple tart features a buttery almond flour crust topped with tender apple slices, a hint of spices, and a drizzle of caramel sauce. Perfect for a dessert!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ cups almond flour
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 egg yolk
  • ⅛ teaspoon salt
  • 3 apples (Granny Smith and Honeycrisp recommended), thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • ⅓ cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • ¼ cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix almond flour, melted butter, maple syrup, egg yolk, and salt until a dough forms.
  2. Press dough into a tart pan. Prick with a fork and chill for 20 minutes.
  3. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake crust for 10–12 minutes until golden. Let cool.
  4. Toss apple slices with lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cornstarch.
  5. Layer apples in concentric circles over the cooled crust.
  6. Bake for 30–35 minutes until apples are tender.
  7. Drizzle with caramel sauce and sprinkle chopped nuts if using.
  8. Cool to set the caramel. Slice and serve.

Notes

  • Use a mix of tart and sweet apples for best flavor.
  • Let the tart cool completely before serving for easier slicing.
