Description

A delicious cheesecake made with a yellow cake base, creamy filling, and a rich chocolate ganache topping.


Ingredients

  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 24 oz cream cheese
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 6 oz bittersweet chocolate
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Prepare yellow cake mix according to box directions and bake in a springform pan. Let cool completely.
  2. Beat cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Add eggs one at a time. Pour over cooled cake base and bake until set. Chill.
  3. In a saucepan, whisk milk, sugar, and cornstarch over medium heat until thick. Remove from heat and stir in butter and vanilla. Cool slightly, then spread over cheesecake. Chill.
  4. Heat heavy cream until simmering, pour over chopped chocolate, wait one minute, then stir until smooth. Let cool slightly and pour over custard.
  5. Chill the entire cheesecake for at least 4 hours or overnight. Slice with a hot knife for clean cuts.
