Description
A hearty skillet dish featuring ground beef and vegetables.
Ingredients
Scale
- 500g ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 medium carrots, diced
- 1 cup frozen peas
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 cup beef stock
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch (optional)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Heat a drizzle of oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until soft and translucent, about 4 minutes. Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add ground beef, breaking it up with a spoon. Cook until browned, about 6–8 minutes. Drain excess fat if needed.
- Stir in carrots and peas. Add tomato paste and cook for 2 minutes, allowing the paste to caramelize slightly.
- Pour in beef stock and Worcestershire sauce. Stir to combine. Simmer uncovered for 10–15 minutes until vegetables are tender and sauce is slightly reduced.
- Optional: Mix cornstarch with cold water and stir into the skillet to thicken the sauce. Cook 2–3 more minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. Garnish with parsley and serve warm.
