Instructions
- Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium heat.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk egg, milk, and vanilla extract until combined.
- Slowly mix wet ingredients into dry ingredients until a smooth batter forms.
- Dip each pound cake cube into the batter, coating evenly.
- Carefully fry in hot oil until golden brown, about 1-2 minutes per side.
- Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Dust generously with powdered sugar before serving.
