Description

A quick and delicious flank steak stir fry with bell peppers and a savory sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 medium red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 1/4 pounds flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 2 teaspoons minced ginger
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth or water
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper or more to taste

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine the sauce ingredients and set aside.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Cook the peppers for 2-3 minutes until softened. Remove to a plate.
  3. Add another tablespoon of oil. Add the steak and cook for 2-3 minutes until browned on the outside but still pink on the inside.
  4. Add the garlic and ginger and cook for another 30 seconds until it smells delicious.
  5. Add the bell peppers back to the pan. Give the sauce mixture a stir, then pour into the pan. Cook until the sauce thickens, then transfer to a serving dish.
  6. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Feel free to customize vegetables based on your preference.
  • For a thicker sauce, add more cornstarch.
