Description

A delicious and wholesome baked oatmeal recipe, perfect for breakfast!


Ingredients

  • 2 cups (180g) rolled oats
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 cups (360ml) milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/3 cup (80ml) maple syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp (28g) melted butter
  • 2 tbsp (25g) brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • Cream cheese icing (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix rolled oats, baking powder, and a pinch of salt until well combined.
  3. In a separate medium bowl, whisk milk, egg, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and melted butter until smooth.
  4. Pour the wet mixture over the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just moistened.
  5. Transfer the oat mixture into a 9×13 inch baking dish, spreading evenly.
  6. In a small bowl, combine brown sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle over the oatmeal.
  7. Using a knife or skewer, gently swirl the cinnamon sugar mixture into the oats.
  8. Bake for 35 minutes, or until the oatmeal is golden brown and set.
  9. Remove from oven and, while warm, drizzle generously with cream cheese icing if desired.
