- 2 cups (180g) rolled oats
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 1/2 cups (360ml) milk
- 1 large egg
- 1/3 cup (80ml) maple syrup
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp (28g) melted butter
- 2 tbsp (25g) brown sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- Cream cheese icing (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, mix rolled oats, baking powder, and a pinch of salt until well combined.
- In a separate medium bowl, whisk milk, egg, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and melted butter until smooth.
- Pour the wet mixture over the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just moistened.
- Transfer the oat mixture into a 9×13 inch baking dish, spreading evenly.
- In a small bowl, combine brown sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle over the oatmeal.
- Using a knife or skewer, gently swirl the cinnamon sugar mixture into the oats.
- Bake for 35 minutes, or until the oatmeal is golden brown and set.
- Remove from oven and, while warm, drizzle generously with cream cheese icing if desired.
Notes
- This dish can be served warm or cold.
- Store any leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
