Description
Delicious chocolate cinnamon rolls with a rich cocoa flavor and a sweet cinnamon filling.

- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
- 1 cup whole milk, warmed
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- Powdered sugar for glazing
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast; let sit for 5 minutes.
- Melt butter and cool slightly before adding it to the yeast mixture along with eggs and vanilla.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually add the wet mixture until a soft dough forms.
- Knead on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- Place dough in a greased bowl and let rise for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- For the filling, mix brown sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter in a bowl.
- Roll out risen dough into a rectangle (14×10 inches) and spread filling evenly.
- Roll tightly from one long side and cut into 12 equal pieces.
- Arrange in a greased baking dish and let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for approximately 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before glazing with powdered sugar mixed with milk.
Notes
- These rolls are best served warm.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
