- 2–3 pieces ripe bananas
- 1 cup old-fashioned oats
- 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup
- 1/2 cup peanut butter or almond butter
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)
- 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Mash 2-3 ripe bananas in a large mixing bowl until smooth.
- Combine the mashed bananas with 1 cup of rolled oats, 1/2 cup of honey or maple syrup, and a pinch of salt. Stir until well mixed.
- Fold in any extras like chocolate chips or nuts if desired.
- Spread the mixture evenly into a greased baking dish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
- Cool the bars in the pan for at least 10 minutes before slicing them into squares.
Notes
- Use overripe bananas for maximum sweetness and flavor.
- For a nut-free option, omit the chopped nuts.
- Feel free to substitute maple syrup for honey based on your preference.
